Although Covid significantly altered my life in terms of training, I have done my best to run and workout on my own until the indoor track season begins. My hurdle times of 63 seconds in the 400 hurdles and 17.74 in the 110 hurdles both were results of just my first year of hurdling. I have a lot of drive, discipline, and potential to grow better at these events, but I have lacked access to hurdles all summer and fall. My local gym has also shut down numerous times during the pandemic and the weather had been particularly cold and occasionally snowy, but I have managed to get home workouts in and some running workouts at a nearby track. I have faced lots of difficulties in training in 2020, but I have taken advantage of running opportunities offered by the MSTCA and Wheaton College; I am still pushing to get better pr’s this indoor and outdoor season. I have been running for 5 years and have bounced around from cross country to sprints to triple jump and now finally have most recently settled on hurdles and sprints. I ask that you give me a chance. I won’t disappoint. I love seeing my team succeed and I always work hard to be a part of the positive progress of my team, but it has been hard pushing on without them in the past several months.
