Winning the 1600m against Wachusett High School was the best moment in my high school career. We needed to win the event because the team was losing by a lot of points. I was trailing behind their top two runners. Then the last 600m came around. This is where I made my move. I started to sprint fast and absolutely broke one of the racers. It was between one other runner and me. I found out after the race the guy was a D1 commit. We went back and forth until the last 100m. I let it all out. I sprinted faster than I ever thought I could and I ended up winning the race and running a PR. This race is a perfect example of what I worked for. Over the last few years, I have been working very hard to win races. I want my team to win. Sure, times are nice to have, but I like winning more than running a fast time. I am only a sophomore in high school, and I have won 5 races in 5 meets. I qualified for the state meets in the 2 mile, 1 mile, and 800-meter races. Overall, my dedication and drive will win races for your team.
