As a kid I grew up playing soccer and that was it, I had no exposure to track. I only found track because a friend persuaded me to sign up my freshman year of high school. I also had little knowledge about hurdling which is my main event now, and ironically pretty much consumes my life. I met many friends through that one event who I still talk to and exchange tips with for self improvement and just being a better athlete. My coach however is who I have to thank for my success. Coach Peter Molloy is one of the most inspirational people I have met and it is through him that I continue to receive knowledge on not just athletics but how to be a better person. I learned through him to be humble, kind, and useful to other people, also his knowledge of getting better at what you're doing quickly is incredible and shows throughout the kids he works with. I don't celebrate much which is something people seem to like about me and I do create goals for myself very often so I am always working towards something.
My main goal for high school is to run a 14.2 in the 110m hurdles which beats our school record of 14.3 and then get into college and as a freshman return to a 14.2 on the 42" hurdles and maybe even improve the same year. By the end of my college career I want to be able to run a sub 14 consistently and maybe even make it to the NCAA Championship. Academically for high school I want to graduate with at least a 3.3 GPA and maintain that throughout college. I will take whatever work that is given to me to be able to get there, as I know it is not an easy task. I hope to see myself in that position soon.
