My name is Zachary Vanicek and I didn’t start pole vaulting until my Sophomore year of high school after being cut from the baseball team freshman year and Covid 19 cancelling the track season. Ever since, pole vault has become a true passion of mine.
Other athletics I have participated in include High School cross country and tennis, along with Legion baseball in the summer. I am also a member of the school’s student council and I am on drumline in the marching band, plus a drummer for the show choir.
Being involved in multiple activities has taught me that it takes a lot of hard work to succeed. My goal now is to earn a college degree while also pole vaulting at the next level.
