To be able to run track in college would be an amazing opportunity and a dream! My goal for the next level of track is to be even more competitive with the help of skilled, knowledgable coaches who can help me reach my full potential. I feel that do to this you have to be highly focused and willing to put the time and effort in to your sport. Academics also play a huge roll into being a great athlete. My grades reflect that kind of student that I am and will continue to be. College to me is also a door into my future so that I may reach my goal of working in physical therapy. I would love to one day work with athletes and other people recovering from injury.
I have been competing in track since the age of 8 which has produced several USATF State Competition Titles. As a sophomore in high school, I qualified for all 4 of my events at the New Mexico High School State Meet. It was a great opportunity to compete against upper class men and to be able to experience it. Junior year was lost due to covid but I was able to run a few indoor meets before the shut down. I broke the school record in the 60m with a 7.39 at the Great Southwest Indoor Meet.
I have not let covid get in the way of my training. I train 3 days a week with my trainer, Del Jenkins at Ardor Elite Training Academy and I do a running workout 3 days a week on my own. I have also been volunteering with my church before the pandemic and during it which has kept me grounded and helped me to realize that I can be a part of something bigger than what my own wants and needs are.
