Moving from Puerto Rico to the U.S. presented challenges, especially with learning a new language, but overcoming that hurdle showed my determination.I have always loved running as a kid and when I discovered what track and field was in America my passion for track began. In 5th grade I joined the track and field team club. During Covid it upset me that I wasn’t able to run on a team but that did not stop me from staying in shape. In 9th grade with the release of the Covid restrictions allowed me to pursue that love further for the sport. I was brought down by many teammates before calling me the slowest and to quit the team but my determination to continue what I love was a must. Now shaping my high school experience to keep running and strive to reach my goals.
