My name is Jeremy Bertolet. I am 17 years old and a senior at Connetquot High School. Since 7th grade, I have competed on the school track and field team. I have done long jump since 7th grade, and got the middle school record in 8th grade of 17’6.5”. Since 9th grade, I have began to participate in triple jump along with long jump. My personal record in long jump is 20’7.25” and in triple jump it is 43’3”. My junior season did not go as planned, as the day I hit 43’ in triple jump I pulled my hamstring and was out for 3 months. Additionally, many of my tripe jumps where I hit high 42’ to low 43’ were taken off from nearly 2 feet behind the spot they are measured from. My goal for senior year is to get the school records in long jump (21’10.5”) and triple jump (45’10”). I believe I have the ability to achieve this as I am still early in development, and am not close to peaking yet. I have much room for growth and believe I can achieve much higher marks in the future.
