Kelby Bishop-Scioli '20 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Kelby Bishop-Scioli. I am an honors student at Connetquot High School with a 4.0 GPA.  I am a 5'10" distance runner who competes in cross country, winter track, and spring track. My best 1600m is 4:39 (don't run it often), and my best 3000m Steeplechase time is 10:07, and my fastest 5k time is 16:37, as well as a time of 15.09 (2.8 mile course at Sunken Meadow).

    I have been running since I was seven years old. I ran AAU and USATF Nationals before high school. As a 12 year old, I won the East Coast Regional Championship in the 1500m (4:43.6).  Another accomplishment I am proud of is being the captain of my high school team for 2 1/2 years as well as the captain of my youth team while I was running AAU and USATF, that made it easier to take on being a captain of my high school team as a Sophmore.  I am always supportive of my teammates and I help them become better runners by pushing them in practice and cheering them on at meets.

    My goal is to go to college to compete and get an excellent education, and participate in the ROTC program and then serve my country.  I am looking for a school that fits who I am. The characteristics I would like in a college are one that is diverse, is very strong academically and has a competitive running program. I think I may prefer a mid-sized school, but I am open to other options.  At this time, I have chosen my major to be International Relations & National Securities.  My ultimate goal is to compete at the highest competitive level at a college that fits me best.
