I want to run in college as I have throughout out my career not only been a talented runner but have enjoyed the process and hardwork that I have had to go to too achieve and accomplish what I have been able to do. I believe with the right team and right school I can thrive and contribute not only to the team, but also in other departments including academics, leadership, being a good listener and a community person. I also believe I still have a lot of potential that I have not unleashed yet and that I can be able to achieve that through my dedication and also through good coaches and peers advices. What makes me different from other recruits is that I have gone through and coped through many ups and downs. For example, I lived in Japan for 4 years attending a local Japanese elementary school. Coming back to NYC and attending a independent school initially was very tough for me, and I had to get used to the customs and culture in the US, but I have done so successfully placing me in the position that I am. Another example of my uniqueness is that I have spent the last few years really creating workouts and weekly schedules for runs and each season reflect on what went wrong, what could have gotten better, and how I can improve in the future and do better. This thoughtful reflection has gotten me to achieve what I have currently have not only as an athlete but also anacademic scholars and character.
