My name is Jair Oliva. I am a dedicated and hard-working athlete who attends Alexander Hamilton High School in Elmsford, New York. I started running track and field for the first time in the spring of 2022. At first I saw track as a way to prepare for basketball, but I ended up getting pretty good at it and fell and love with the sport. I’ve only been running track for one full year, and my times have dropped significantly. In my Sophomore year, my 400 meter dash personal best was 53.5 seconds. When I returned as a junior, my PRs were 50.4 in the 400 meter, and a split of 49.5 in the 4x400m relay. Additionally, I also earned the honors of multiple awards, including All-State honors, All-Section honors, and even being named to the Westchester/Putnam All-Star Team. In my final year of track and field, I set a goal to improve my time by an additional two seconds, which is something I definitely think I will accomplish.
Thank you.
