I would love to advance my love for Track and Field by running at the college level. I have been running Track ever since seventh grade, and I still remember how much I loved my first day on the Varsity team up at the High School. For a majority of my first year of Track, I was mainly a sprinter, running the 400 meter dash. Then, my coach told me to start hurdling. At that time, I was furious and I originally planned on quitting. After a long talk with him, I realized I should give it a try. It was the best decision I have possibly made.
Although Track and field is mainly an individual sport, I take pride in bettering my teammates and being there for them, not just as a captain, but as a friend. My work ethic goes pretty much unmatched, as nothing has ever come easy for me. I have had to work for essentially everything I have, and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.
I am looking to find a school where I can not only continue running, but also grow as a student. Academics have always held an immense amount of importance to me, so finding a school where I can both run, and pursue my dual degree in Biomedical Engineering and Spanish is key. On top of this, I am involved in a multitude of organizations and activities through my high school, and wish to keep this consistent through college, as well as maintaining my high GPA.
