I am a student athlete at Brevard High School in a small town. One reason I would be a good candidate is my academic success. I have always been the kind of student who strives for good grades and I communicate with my teachers when making a grade that brings my average down to bring it back up. Another reason would be that I'm a good sport and never try to bring any of my friends or family down. I try to encourage others to be their best selves by giving tips on improvement and help anywhere they need me. The last reason I will mention that qualifies me as a good candidate is my work ethic. I have great self motivation and will do whatever is asked of me. I will never skip workouts or be lazy because I want to keep getting better and be the person that people can look up to as a good example student athlete.
I like to think of myself as a helpful person who is always open to help anyone in need. In my life currently, I am helping a good friend through his parents' divorce and also helping my little sister prepare for high school next year as she struggles academically. This could help me on a collegiate level track team by being there for some of my peers and helping them with whatever they need, whether that be school or learning better form while running.
One of my goals would include getting to a Division 1 college to achieve my academic goals as well as run track and field. Some things to go with that goal though are how I want it to be local and a good fit to who I am. I will continue to practice hard at high school throughout this year and next to be ready for recruitment on a Division 1 level. I also have an academic goal of keeping All A's in high school and graduating top 3 of my class, as I am 6th currently. I am the type of person who works hard and gives it my all to accomplish goals so I am really hoping that I will make these goals and any future goals I may have such as being number 1 sprinter in state.
