Going in to high school I didn't think that cross country and track would be my sports. I had been swimming at a competitive level for six years and I was starting to swim at a higher level than in previous years. However, I was inspired to improve my running when my team lost the track state championship my freshman year and I wasn't fast enough to help our team win. Getting second place felt humiliating and that is the moment that I decided I wanted to stop swimming and focus on running . The hard work paid off my sophomore year when I placed fourth in the 800m (an event I didn't even qualify for in states my freshman year) to help my team tie for first place.
I am also very fortunate to have such great teammates. They help push me athletically as well as academically everyday. With such a great team we are always training for big goals that we believe are achievable.
I am looking for a college that will challenge me both in the classroom and on the track. I like to win and will put in the hard work to help my team. I have bigger goals to accomplish this year so stay tuned...
