Personal Statement

  • During the summer I started running track for the Greensboro Cheetahs in the 13-14 age group. While running for the Cheetahs I ran the 100m(12., 400m(59., and 200m(24. I had the mindset of never being behind so during the time I would win all my races. I ran for the cheetahs for a year. I was a people’s athlete due to how quickly I could adapt to a different environment and people I’m that environment. I had phenomenal coaches who had athletes on the high school level. I then started running for the Greensboro Bolts which was connected through my Middle School coach where I was an intimidating athlete where my speed was a factor in the 200m dash. Running with the bolts I ran the 100m dash, 200m dash, and the 400m dash. During my Bolt career, I move up in the age group which was the 15-16 age group. The age wasn't as competitive as I thought but it was enough to still give my all. I ran at the region qualifier meet and made it to the finals in the 200m dash. Running finals for the 200m dash was interesting because as long as we sat in the clerking area to run the 200m the Meet officials were getting a bit tired but I understood a long day out in the sun would do it. The meet officials ended up combining all heats into 3 or 4 heats to limit the number of heats that was scheduled to run that night. The time and place I ran that night were unexpected but understandable because of the lack of preparation for all athletes but I guess you have to be ready for the unexpected. The high school track quickly approached and was very worth the while waiting. My high school season starts and I find myself training for cross country unexpectedly but fun. My first cross country was at North Forsyth High School in Winston Salem. This course was interesting because of all the hills and overall how well you could see how the course was marked off so awkwardly. This course was marked in a way that you could understand by only running it to get a feel. While running on the course I find myself out running seniors but my coach told me it was expected because of my fresh feet and the adrenaline. Every meeting I had to get a feel of the course because it was my first time doing it. My final PR hat season was
