My life has not been without struggle, as I have had to deal with issues of alcoholism in my family. Even so, I remain nonetheless joyful because of the love I receive from Jesus. Those experiences have taught me a lot about perseverance and finding out who you really are, something I translate into throwing by the understanding that my achievements will only equal the work I put in. Those experiences have also sharpened my leadership skills and changed my philosophy of leadership, where I now realize that showing love and being yourself is not only the most worthwhile thing to do, but allows you to be a better leader. It was this philosophy and skills I gained in it that helped me win an election to become the president-elect of the state executive board for student councils. I believe that my leadership skills make me valuable to any group of which I am a part.
My goals academically for high school include maintaining a 4.0 unweighted GPA and graduating in the top 10 in my class. In college, my goals are quite similar, as I plan to graduate with a high enough GPA to get into law school.
