My name is Kevin Salaudeen and I go to Bayside secondary in the small city of Belleville, Ontario. I aspire to be an engineering in the future, I'm disciplined in my work in the classroom and on the track. I am a student of my event, there is not a triple jump technique video or competition I haven't yet seen on YouTube, LOL. As a member of athletic counsel, I organize special events for my school. I volunteer year round with the military family resource centre at fundraisers. During the pandemic, I volunteer tutored math and french to kids who needed help with homework on zoom once a week.
I was selected as a recipient of the Andre de grasse scholarship after doing well at provincials my sophomore year with little training. The grant provided financial aid which has really helped with the cost of travel and competitions. I was able to compete with a small club for the first time this summer and receive more specialized training with coach, (a former D1 triple/ long jumper).
I love track because it’s so competitive yet the athletes are still friendly. Furthermore, I love the aspect of personal growth that comes with it and always trying to beat your personal best. I would love for track to continue to be a big part of my life into my university years, and I feel I would bring great value to any track team.
