Brayden Chapple '20 Recruiting Profile

 As a child I loved watching Usain Bolt on tv, speed down the track. No one close to even catching him. I wanted to be just like him. He looked like he was flying.  I have always loved the feeling of flying as I sprint and run hurdles.  I was the fastest kid in my elementary school, all the way from grade 4 to grade 8. I came home with many first place ribbons. It wasn't until I joined my club team, Durham Legion Athletics, that I learned I was not the only fast kid out there. That realization propelled me to strive to do my best and give 100% during practice and at meets. I have had success over the years especially with hurdles (60m hurdles and 110m hurdles), and I continue to challenge myself in the 60m, 100m and 200m.  I respect my coaches and thrive on their feedback and their experience that ultimately makes me a better athlete.  My family has provided me with the belief that I can reach my goals with hard work and determination. Going forward my goal is to attain a track scholarship to a Division I or Division II school to assist  me in obtaining my education.  I will dedicate myself to committing my energy and talents to a school that sees my growth and potential, and strive to be the best student athlete that I am able to be.

Academically, I made the Grade 9 honor roll, and have continued to do my best in all my classes in high school. I have been able to maintain a 78.5% average, which works out to a 3.0 GPA. Throughout high school I have also been part of various varsity sports teams such as volleyball, basketball, badminton, and of course Track and Field.  Thinking ahead to post secondary education, I would love to study Business Management and Marketing, or even Sports Management.
