I am looking to study Sports Medicine. Sports have been a part of my life since I was a child. I've been learning ways to ensure I stay in good physical health and have take steps towards injury prevention. It’s been something that as an athlete is the most important piece of our success. I have made it a priority to keep my grades really high throughout high school so that I have more opportunities for my career path and to be noticed by other people, as well as keeping my athletics at a competitive level.
I've been a really good athlete since I was little playing the highest level of hockey since i was 6 and Volleyball the last 2 years. 2019 Track and Field became my passion as I started exceeding many personal bests. In 2019 I was invited to the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) to run and jump for Team Saskatchewan, unforunately Covid-19 cancelled these games. I have always been above my age group, running with people who are anywhere from 2-3 years older than me in sprinting and jumping. I love the extra challenge.
In 2021/2022 I have been jumping at the university level. Most if not all of the meets that I have been in, I have earned a medal in at least one of my events if not all of them. I am currently ranked top 10 in Canada for the under 18 age group for most of my events. I was named all around Junior Boy Saskatchewan Provincial Champion June 2022 for my highschool track team with 4 golds and a bronze.
January 28/23 I was asked to run in the 60m invitational with 3 Olympic athletes and 7 more of the fastest men in Canada. It truly was an amazing chance and honor to be apart of such an amazing group of men only being 16 years old.
I think that track is a very personal sport and I have met a lot of amazing athletes along the way. It is such a good community to be in. You can just go up to your fellow competitors, have a conversation with them, congratulate them, respect them, even if you don’t know them. I am looking forward to meeting a lot more people who have the same interest and love for the sport that I do.
