During my time at First Baptist, I have been a member of the varsity football team and varsity track and field teams for four years. I have also been a contributing member to the varsity basketball team for three years. I was all region for football in my junior year and placed in the top five in the state track meet for multiple events. Our basketball team was ranked as the third best team in the state (Private and Public Schools) and finished runner up to the state champions. Across all sports, I have been awarded the “Hurricane” award, which is the coaches award recognizing hard work four times and the “Most Improved” award four times including back to back in football. I’m proud of all that I’ve accomplished but, I feel like I have untapped potential in track and field because I am seeing success in high jump and hurdles while my school doesn’t have a high jump pit or track.
