I'm a senior at Landrum High School, I'm heading into my second season of track and field. My main events are the 400, 200 and 100. Last year I started track because my friend Kane did it and it was something he really enjoyed. As someone who has played soccer for 8 years it was not a light decision. So instead of dropping soccer completely I decided to dual-sport. So I would go to the soccer practices and try and make it to as many meets and games as I could. Throughout the pre-region season I probably made it to 5 track practices. After soccer season ended I made it to many more practices and my times dropped 4 seconds in 8 meets for the 400. So this year I made the decision to fully committ to track and Im hoping that my potential is more properly utalized and I become the best possible athlete I can be. After HS I plan to attend a four year university and major in biology and then go into my med/graduate school. Then pediatric school and then after that pursure my dream of becoming a pediatric oncologist. As much as I love track and field, academics is also a huge part of deciding where I want to spend the next four years of my life.
