My goals and aspirations are very vast. Every new season in cross-country or track, I always make it my goal to decrease my time by a minimum of ten seconds. Another goal of mine is to ultimately have the best chemistry with my teammates, if I and my teammates have a good relationship and work ethic we can be more sufficient in our results. Finally, my ultimate goal for my high-school track and cross-country career is to win at least one state championship for each sport, whether it is individually or as a team. I consider myself a necessary candidate for the team because of my work ethic, not just running specifically either. Every day I come to practice with determination and I want to better the team in every way I can, if my coach assigns a workout, I am willing to do that workout with every ounce of my energy for beneficial results for the team. I also desire for everyone on the team to have good relationships with each other and I try my hardest to make sure that everyone is in good standing with one another, so we can work hard in a good environment for splendid results.
The reason why I differentiate from other recruits is because I am willing to put in more effort than anybody else and take the next step other people are not willing to take. For example, if everyone has a day off from running and nobody is running, I am going to be the man to take the initiative and run by myself and do what needs to be done for a successful future. If there is a new teammate that joined the team and is struggling with his goals, I am going to be the man to step up and help him achieve his goals. If a coach assigns a pace to run at a certain time, I will not complain instead I will push the pace so that everyone can run the pace needed. Although athletics is important I understand that academics is why I am wanting to go to college; I will study hard and find extra help if needed so that way I can be successful. Based on my current GPA, I feel as though I can not only balance academics and athletics but be successful in both. What truly sets me apart is the fact I am willing to go the extra mile that a lot of people do not have the instinct to strive for to succeed.
