As you probably already know, my name is Griffin Petersen and I’m from Onida, South Dakota. My hobbies include exercising, spending time with friends and family, playing Xbox, and keeping up with everything that has to do with politics. I also spend a lot of time with school work and extracurricular activities. In college, I plan to pursue a degree in criminal justice and receive further education in law. The town that I live in is pretty small, which definitely has its benefits as well as some drawbacks. One drawback is that it’s often overlooked by college track coaches looking for new recruits. That is why I’m here.
Running has been a great passion of mine for many years. Ever since I started running track in sixth grade, I’ve never stopped wanting to succeed in the sport and utilize my talents to their full potential. Not only has running improved my physical strength and endurance, but also my mental strength as well as my willingness to face any challenge with high spirits and a good attitude. I have been running track for a pretty long time now, and I’ve also ran cross country for three years. So, I would say I’m a fairly experienced distance runner considering the amount of competitive running I’ve participated in. Knowing this, I feel like, one day, I could be a good asset to a collegiate track and field team if I were given the opportunity.
