Tactical, gritty, and influential. If I could give three words to describe how I run and my character, those would be it.
My name is Vedant Bhattacharyya, and I am currently a junior in high school. My running career began in 4th grade, in which I absolutely hated the sport. However, as I started to progress and find the joys of running outside of times, my passion for the sport evolved. Now more than ever I can say that I truly love the sport, and I am looking forward to running in college!
When it comes to being a teammate, I make an effort to go out of my way to help my school team. Often times I will lead meetings discussing times, strategies, training, and helping with one on one conversations that help some of the younger teammates excel over time. I do my best to make sure I develop close connections with teammates, and from that, I know I can be a team-oriented runner at the collegiate level.
In terms of goals for this junior year, I have set some pretty lofty goals!
Goals:
800: 1:56
1600: 4:12
3200: 9:15
5k XC: 15:30
Once again, I am immensely grateful for any opportunity that may come my way, and I cannot wait to run at the next level!
