Austin Villanueva '25 Recruiting Profile

I first began competing in club track and field when I was 11 years old. It became something that I truly enjoyed. Every year that past since, my work ethic and passion began to grow with the sport. This carried over to Junior High and now into High School. I am a three -year letterman as I enter my Senior Year at Flour Bluff. This past season I earned accolades in track and field as: Academic all-district, 1^st Team All-District, UIL 29-5A District Champion in the 400m and 4x400m relay, Area Champion and Regional Qualifier in the 400m and 4x400m relay State Bronze Medalist. 

As a student athlete, I am very determined and self-driven to always strive to put my best foot forward in everything I do. I am an eyes-up listener with retention ability to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently. I have a very strong work ethic and will execute what’s asked of me by my coaches and educators at a high level. My family has been my biggest support system.  They have always been there when I needed them, and I know that they will always be there to encourage me and push me along the way during this journey.

Academics is the key to achieving my goals. I take my education seriously, and I am very critical when it comes to the quality and punctuality of my schoolwork assignments. I am currently in the top 20 percent of a class of 500 students. My first goal is to be accepted into an education institution that will push me and help me develop proficient skills to help me navigate through the professional world successfully. My second goal is to compete in track and field at the collegiate level.
