Hi, my name is Alex Mathes I'm a senior at Covenant prep. in Kingwood Texas. I've always been an athletic and energetic kid since my early childhood who loved to run. but until my last, and first, track season I really fell in love with the thrill of satisfaction from the efforts shown by training hard to improve myself. And better yet I was really good at track. I honestly didn't know much about everything that went into track and field but with only 2 months of practice under my belt, I somehow managed to win state which was a thrill of a lifetime! After this amazing experience, I immediately set myself the goal to run track in college to improve greatly in order to prove my efforts and better myself, whichever college is for me I'm here ready to bring all that I got plus some more.
Track strengths and weaknesses:
I'll be blunt to save your time. I'm fairly inexperienced with track, I've only run one season with little coaching in a short amount of time. Yet I still managed to win state. my weakest point is my start it's mainly due to my height I haven't been trained how to properly get off the blocks as well as my reaction time isn't the greatest. my strongest suit is my quick acceleration and my strong finish. Even though I'm slow in the beginning ill catch you before the race ends. so now you know what you need to coach me on.
more about me:
I'm not a big party person, in fact, I dread them even though I'm an extrovert. I do however have probably hundreds of service hours under my belt of helping the community through my participation in BoyScouts and through my school. I try hard in school to keep my grades up and I take school seriously and want the best for my education. I'm interested in how and why things work, such as the body's mechanics while running.
College preferences:
As far as I'm concerned I want to attend a medium-sized college that is academically and athletically challenging and interests me but other than that I'm open to pretty much anything. If you're interested in me shoot me an email and I'll respond as soon as I can.
