My long term goal as of right now is to be a sprinter in college. I have enjoyed running and racing since I was a very young boy. Both of my parents excelled in track in high school, and have encouraged me to do the same. As a freshman this last school year, I started running on JV (4x200MR, 4x100MR, 100m, 200m) and after two track meets my track coach promoted me to the varsity track team. I then competed with the upperclassmen including running at the district track meet on the 4x100 (one of the upperclassmen was ineligible at the time), open 100, and open 200. This 4x100 team eventually placed second at the state track meet and broke a state record for 4A. In the open 100 and 200, I placed sixth as a freshman. During this first year of high school track, I was quickly motivated to educate myself on good eating habits, sprinting form, professional role models to follow, and proper workout routines which can all enhance my track career. In school, I have always gotten along well with others, served as a leader, and maintained excellent grades. On the court and field - in football, basketball, track, and tennis, I have always given my absolute best effort in all workouts whether the coach is watching or not. Other athletes look up to me, and I have good advice to offer them. I am a Christian athlete who believes helping others is just as important as helping myself. Recently, I attended a Texas A&M track camp where I learned new ways to improve my workouts, and now I feel that it is time to connect with coaches and other athletes outside of my hometown. I am excited to see where these efforts will lead.
