I am Ivan Valles. I typically do three sports a year, six-man Football, Basketball, and Track, however because of an injury last year I was not able to do so then and now I do only two (football and track). I have recovered well, almost to the point where it feels like it had never happened, and I am ready to get back into a full three sport year again. I enjoy sport in general, and I am always open to a challenge on all fields, sport, academics, or just small competition among friends. Not only do I juggle the role of student and athlete, but I am president of my club. I organize school events that mainly orientate around a holiday, such as Halloween and Christmas which requires a lot of coordination. I am also considering joining the student council as well, which will be another hat to wear, which will occur during my senior year. Outside of school I am a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, i am a role model for eight very close cousins and to two siblings, a brother and a sister, all who are younger than I. My family and I are very family orientated and reliant on one another in a beneficial manner, especially since the economy here is based on oil production which is not a very reliable source due to booms and busts always occurring, but if life her has taught me anything it is that you must be persistent, which I am. I believe this translates over nicely to sports and the need to drive for my teammates. I mostly run track(4x400m, 4x200m, 200m) and I enjoy it very well and is the one sport I am most confident in, followed by football, but I am always open to possibility. As for my character, I am caring, persistent, and I chose to lead by example on the field and pull the team together, on or off the bench to keep moral up. You cannot win a game if you lost the mind game.
