As of 2021, I will be starting my sixth year of track and field. My love for the sport grows each year! I am a very dedicated and hard-working athlete, I'm willing to put in any training, necessary to compete and do well in Shot put and discus. I have quite a few successes as an athlete, middle school 7th/8th grade I ranked 1st in the homeschool state meet, and in 8th-grade year along with the homeschool meet I placed 1st the Dallas metroplex championship. Sadly my freshman year was cut short due to an injury, but thankfully all is well now. Sophomore year was very good as I placed 1st for shotput and 2nd for discus about every meet I attended. I look forward to my junior year and cannot wait for what is yet to come.
Aside from track &field, I am an avid weightlifter/powerlifter and I greatly enjoy competing in speech and debate. I'll be entering into my 4th of speech and debate competing in one of the largest nationwide leagues the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA). Both years I qualified for the Regional Championship and have done quite well, I look forward to this year of competition with hopes of a national tournament invitation. I'm dedicated to both my sport and my extracurricular activity and I strive for greatness in both!
I have a couple of things in mind for a college education but my biggest interests are Kinesiology, Biomechanic, Sports medicine, and Physical Therapy. At the end of the day, it would be a blessing to attend a school that offered any of these but besides this, I have many more interests as well such as Communications, and philosophy. Now you know a little bit more about me, I hope to be a potential candidate for attending your school come 2023.
Sincerely
-Santiago Guerra
