"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." 1 Cor 9:24-25
I strive for excellence in all I do. From the age of 4, I was determined to play Collegiate Soccer and in Middle School I joined the Track Team at school for off season training. The end of my freshman year was when I made the switch and dedicated myself 100% to my track training by joining a local Club Track Team @SWIFT. The beginning of my 1st season of competitive training made me hunger for more so I registered for the 2022 Nike Outdoor Championship races as a rookie freshman to challenge myself. While I earned 4th place overall, my race was a DQ because I stepped on the line. My dedication to improvement was unwavering at this point. This taught me how to be a leader in that I understood how to keep my team motivated during a losing or winning meet. I won 80% of my races through hard work and determination that Summer and as the rookie on the team, I helped my 4 x 800 relay team win the 15/16 AAU Championship Race in 2022.
My dedication for excellence follows me to the classroom as I maintain challenging course work in preparation for my desired career as an Engineer. As a 3 year member of the National Society of Black Engineers, I am currently leading my Rocketry Team into Regionals in hopes for a place in the national competition this year.
I pride myself in my work ethic, leadership I have gained through my performance in the classroom and on the field, and the inspiration I have been for my teammates. I enjoy helping my teammates prepare mentally and physically for our meets. As a 3 year member of the National Honor Society, I have been able to give back to my community in a way that is rewarding when you see families receive their meals at food drives, or the care I put into packaging food bundles and back to school backpacks.
My commitment to excellence and to be a good person is what I offer.
