I am not content with the end of my cross country career finishing in high-school. For three years, I stopped running cross country due to my school not having team for me to compete on. My last year which was this year, my school decided to open a varsity team in which I competed on as team captain. My goal for this year was ultimately to lead my team to state, unfortunately I could not get them there. I encouraged them and helped in the ways I could, but at the end of the day our times as a team were not fast enough. I compete in state individually on October 30th and I plan on placing and representing my team the best I can. However what I am trying to accomplish comes with many challenges, I have gone from not running for three years to breaking 18 minute 5K's in the span of three months, and where i am currently at is no way near my full potential. I personally feel like I have so much more to improve and the skill I am running with right now is more of raw skill than trained skill. I know that with proper training which I have been performing and will continue to, I will be able to cut my current time from 17:39 to at least a 16:20 by the end of March 2022. I know I can genuinely make an impact and influence every team I am on, due to my will to do anything it takes in order to reach my personal and team goals. In every year I have competed, I have been made team captain due to coaches seeing how i can push my teammates and myself to the best we can be by all means necessary. I do not expect to be made team captain on a collegiate level as a freshman, but it is no doubt that i will make an influence on any team i compete on.
