This past summer was my first time taking cross country and track and seriously. All before that I was just casually running just to get faster for other sports. It wasn’t until I found out in March of this year that I had fractured my spine back in September of last year that I decided to forget about football and baseball as they would only add on to the injury and turn to running as my new path. I still underperformed this cross country season, I’m not where I wanted to be, but that’s why I’m going to finish this season out strong and as soon as it’s over I’m training for nothing but 800m and 1600m. I aspire to break 1:55 in my 800m and 4:35 in my mile by the end of this coming track season in order to show my adversity and that I’m willing to put in all the work it takes to bring my times down all while studying for and staying on top of my classes.
