Hello there! I'm Laura Renteria, a rising junior at Pharr San-Juan Alamo Early College High School. Within my high school, I proudly serve as a utility player for our water polo team. My journey with water polo began when I first held the ball in fifth grade, and I've cherished every moment of it since. While my swimming journey started at the tender age of six, it wasn't until I turned eleven that I was introduced to the captivating world of water polo. I adore how water polo combines physical strength and mental toughness. I truly value the way it continually challenges me to my boundaries, both during each practice and game.
Though the pandemic might have deprived me of my middle school years, it didn't extinguish my passion for water polo as I eagerly dove into it during my freshman year. My approach to the game can be described as relentlessly "attack-minded," as I put my heart and soul into every aspect of it. On top of my athletic commitments, I'm currently pursuing college-level courses and maintaining an impeccable 4.0 GPA with South Texas College. Remarkably, I stand at number 20 out of 663 in my junior class rankings.
Outside the pool, I'm honored to hold the role of Recording Secretary among the junior class officers, while also actively participating in FFA. Balancing these responsibilities requires significant effort, but my determined spirit and passion empower me to accomplish all that I set my mind to.
