For as long as I can remember, I've played sports. It doesn't matter which one I love them all, everything from baseball, basketball, soccer to fencing. The summer before my freshman year of high school, I moved from Tennessee to Oregon. I fit right into the cross country team as soon as I arrived. They welcomed me in right away and made my transition to a new school really easy. I like being a part of a team working for a goal. My freshman year I ran JV most of the season yet still earned my varsity letter. The Varsity team won the 5A Oregon State Championship that year after a 5 year gap. I knew that season that I wanted to be a contributing member of that Varsity squad the following year defending our title. I also discovered that running was the sport I wanted to take to the next level. I worked my way onto the Varsity squad my sophomore year and ended up being our 5th man at the XC state championship and we won a back to back state title in 5A. After cross country season, I set my goals on track and the 800 meter and ended up with 1st team All-state with 3rd place at state.
I'm an athlete but a student first, I am looking for a program that will fit both athletically and academically. I enjoy the dynamics of a team and the support and comradery of working together to accomplish goals. I would enjoy being part of a team that is a family away from family. A great fit would be a program that will challenge me as an athlete, help me grow as an individual while succeeding as a student.
