I have always believed that my performance can only be as good as the practice, conditioning, mental preparation and decision making that I put in on and off of the field, all twelve months of the year. As I enter my senior year of high school, I see so many opportunities to step up, elevate my play, and take on new leadership roles on my football and track teams as well as the community that I live in.
Being the youngest of four boys, I have always had a natural competitiveness and desire to keep up with or surpass what my brothers have accomplished. Looking back, I am grateful now that I was continually challenged, even if it was just “friendly” game of touch football or two on two playing basketball. Over the years I gained a certain level of patience, waiting in the wings and watching my brothers do amazing things. So if you want to know what drives me, what inspires me, what really gives me a sense of accomplishment? It’s knowing that after a game/meet, I know that I have given everything I had to do my best and that my brothers are now on the sidelines with my parents, watching me.
