Since a young age I have found a passion in competing. Growing up with two brothers, everything is a competition, from playing multiple sports or games to racing to the house for dinner. That’s when I knew running was my thing.
As a multi-sport athlete I have learned a lot about myself. Track has allowed me to feel stronger, calmer and have a more relaxed mind set. Track has improved my ability to withstand stress and frustration as well to help increase my coping skills when something new is presented. Each sport has taught me important lessons that have been beneficial in my team and sport settings, as well as my day to day life. I’ve felt the rewards of achieving the goals that I have set for myself through putting in the hard work, self-discipline and dedication. There are always goals to be set and goals to be met. I’m never where I want to be. I always want to be chasing a goal.
In the classroom, I have always been interested in numbers. Whether it be the first to figure out a math equation; figuring out percentages off in a store; counting my change back in my head before the clerk counts it back to equating a proper tip at a restaurant. Numbers are a constant in my day. With taking two college level classes in High School, AP Stats and AP Bio, along with competing in multiple sports, working, making time to socialize with peers as well as keeping up with schoolwork and my grades I’m not afraid of the hard work and commitment that it takes and will continue to take to achieve all my goals.
I would like to attend a college where I can push myself to excel in the classroom and on the track. I am open to all possibilities and want to find the right college fit with the best competition possible. I hope to set a good example for my friends and family and to make my Mom and Dad proud.
