Andrew Main '20 Recruiting Profile

4/15/20 - I will be attending the University of Southern California.  

I am a quick learner, a disciplined hard worker and excellent teammate.  I am positive and persistent and believe that my attitude and constant encouragement to my team, as well as leading by example, contributes to our success and ability to shake off our mistakes.  I'm passionate about volleyball and work hard on my game and strength training with a personal trainer outside of school. I have a rigorous academic load and I strive to do and be my best in everything. I believe mastering something, whether it's a sport, class or instrument, takes commitment and practice.  For enjoyment and relaxation I play Jazz saxophone and classical piano and enjoy scuba diving. I am a Rescue Certified diver and working my way to Dive Master. I'm looking for a school with a high performing volleyball program and high academic standards. While I am not sure what I want to major in, I have a deep interest in earth sciences and math, microbiology, immunology, marine biology and ocean engineering. My personal motto is "do the right thing not the popular thing." Having integrity and being a man for others are the two most important things about me. I believe I may be different from other recruits because of my commitment to excellence not just in volleyball but in everything that I do: academics, sports, music, extra-curricular, volunteering, and my personal life. If I am fortunate enough to join a collegiate volleyball program, I will be the hardest working guy in the gym. My goals in life are to be happy by doing something I love and to make a positive impact in the world.
