I guess I’d be best described as a late bloomer. I almost didn’t make the team my Freshman year and fought for playing time the first year in high school and then started playing club my second year of highschool. Then, toward the end of my sophomore year through my junior year, I grew 4 or 5 inches. I had a late growth spurt and finally grew into my body and started seeing the results in my gameplay. Earlier on my movement hadn’t caught up with my body. But I worked hard, I learned the sport, and never gave up even when it seemed I would never be as coordinated as some other players. I didn’t get discouraged and my coordination finally caught up. I have grit and a strong work ethic. I work hard to keep developing my skills. I’m the first person in the gym and the last one out. I seek out extra drills and practice on my own. I love the game of volleyball and being on a team. I have fun with my teammates and am constantly encouraging everyone. I keep a positive attitude at all times and believe this is one of the reasons my teammates elected me Team Captain this year. I also work hard in school and have strong grades. I participate in CSF, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and hold two jobs.
