Aloha Coaches,
I'm Micah Low-Heiser and I'm an 18-year-old Senior at Hawaii Baptist Academy. I have been playing volleyball since I was in Kindergarten because of my teacher encouraging me to go to her club's clinics. From there on I began to love the game and it wasn't until my freshman year, that I wanted to play collegiately.
I have been playing for Kuikahi Volleyball since my 8th-grade year and have been on the 14-1, 15-1, and 16-1 team so far in my career, however this past club season I switch clubs to Pure Aloha and made the 17-Black Team. I have also been playing volleyball for my school, Hawaii Baptist Academy, since the 7th grade and have been the captain of my JV team the past 3 seasons.
Playing volleyball has taught me a lot of things and it has also granted me a lot of things as well. One of those things being hard work. I'm not the most athletic player, but my IQ as well as my work ethic shine above that. I lived in the gym before the pandemic hit, and I was working out a lot trying to make myself a better athlete. I managed to turn a lot of the fat I had on my body into muscle and I also maintained vertical too. However, once the pandemic hit Hawaii, gyms closed down and a lot of my progress has been lost. I'm not going to let that stop me and I am ready to work myself off to make sure I'm ready to play collegiate volleyball next year.
If you decide to look at me for your program, I am an athlete that is determined to get better and put in the extra effort to make sure the team and I will succeed on and off the court. I will do whatever it takes to become a better athlete and person. I'm also determined to put in the work to transform myself into a better athlete at whatever costs.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Mahalo Nui Loa,
Micah Low Heiser
