Zak Burkett '21 Recruiting Profile

Aloha!

My name is Zak Burkett and I am a 6'0 setter from Maui, Hawaii. I have been playing volleyball since I was in third grade. I've always been a leader on the court, I love to get hyped with my teammates before games and love to cheer them on when they do something well. Even in a loss, I try to keep their heads up and keep them pumped. I have been the team captain of my high school team since I was a sophomore and a captain of both of my club teams. In my sophomore season, I was selected as a first-team all-star setter. My favorite thing about being a setter is the ability to read a defense and spread the offense out accordingly. 

After every practice, I go to the weight room and lift. This goes for the two other varsity sports I play. By doing this I have gained a lot of weight. 

I would say that the my best quality is my mindset and want to learn and always improve in all areas of my game.
