Playing any sports on the collegiate level seems improbable for anyone graduating from Waialua High School, a small school on the North Shore of Oahu (Hawaii). I grew up as an Army dependent and it was in Washington State where I got introduced to volleyball; but moving back to Hawaii is when I fell in love with volleyball. The love of the sport was from watching my dad start his volleyball coaching career from never playing volleyball to winning division championships at each level in a span of 7 years. I am thankful he took me along on his journey because we learned the sport together and gave us growing pains, satisfaction, and life lessons. That experience and determination helped me grow as a student-athlete and led me to refocus my own efforts on becoming a solid volleyball player with the confidence of playing at the college level.
I was fortunate enough to be part of an amazing high school volleyball program and 3 volleyball club programs learning from numerous coaches and teammates the past 7 years. I learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership through the years. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I truly believe I not only have the talent, determination, and motivation to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on any program. As a two-sport athlete, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
