Growing up being raised by a single mom I learned at an early age that nothing comes easy but rather through hard work and determination to succeed. This along with growing up as a three-sport athlete taught me a valuable lesson that I carry with me through not only sports but life. I am a strong advocate of teamwork, respect for authority, and putting everything I have in me on the court, field, classroom, and life. My natural leadership skills help me drive those around me to do the same while also being a positive motivator to my teammates.
I learned of my love for the sport of Volleyball in Junior High when it was first available to me as an organized sport. I decided to walk away from the game of baseball and focus on improving my volleyball skills. After 3 years of playing on the school teams and attending multiple clinics, I made the Future Elite Travel team, which took my skill set to a higher level. I then made the varsity team my sophomore year which was another goal of mine. My next goal as a varsity player is to grow as a solid middle blocker and be a major contributor in bringing my high-school team back to Regionals, Sectionals, and even State for the first time since the 2008/2009 season.
I was told when deciding to retire from baseball and commit to volleyball that volleyball is not a sport. With my work ethic, desire, and commitment I intend to continue to improve my skills to be able to play and succeed at the collegiate level.
