Hi! My name is Emily Guenther; I am a 6'1 catcher, and a disciplined shortstop, and just recently have begun to learn and train as a first baseman. I play for the Illinois Schaumburg Sluggers 18u JA, and Glenbard North High School and I am graduating class of 22.
I have been playing for more than 8 years, and I have grown to love the sport, from the beginning days in tee-ball. I played travel baseball for a year and half as a pitcher, and transitioned into softball, and began my career in becoming a hardworking, mindful softball player. Over the years I have learned a lot, and increased my softball IQ, and have continued to build up my strong arm.
My goal has always been to play softball in college, and I have remained motivated towards that goal, continuously throughout the years. I want to earn the opportunity to be a part of a team, and start my college career in softball. I have always strived to play in college as a result of my competitive hard working nature, and I have alway's strived to build my skills to the best of my ability. I also try to be coachable, that way I can better further my game, and strengthen my fundamentals.
In regards to academics, I have a 4.2/5 GPA, and I am a hard-working individual, in and out of the classroom. I plan to take more AP, and honor's classes, as to better challenge me. I would like to pursue a major in either engineering, business, or computer science. I am receptive to any division and/or location, public or private.
In regards to life outside of school, i'm very active. I like to bike, craft, and be creative. I used to build remote control cars and design legos and such. I love to do volunteer work for my community too. Feed my Starving Children is one of my favourite places to volunteer at.
Thank you for your time, Emily.
