My name is Lachezar Peev. I first started playing volleyball when one of my friends told me to tryout for the school volleyball team in 7th grade. Before that, I had never played volleyball. My team wasn't exactly the nicest, but I still had a fun time, not because of my teammates, but because of playing volleyball, playing the sport I love. I love playing volleyball, anytime I touch a volleyball I'm having fun. When I started in club, my vert was quite low. My physical condition wasn't that good, but my technique, my arm strength, and my ability to use my head at all times helped me to be better and to compensate for what I lacked. My ability to always stay cool-headed and calm in a stressful or tough situation also allowed me to help my team in other ways than with sheer strength and physical condition. When I first joined BVA, it was my first year of club ever, so I got put into the 2nd team. I got selected to be one for the two captains for my team, and throughout the season, I learned a lot about being a captain and knowing how my teammates feel and how to motivate them when they're down. Especially as outside, I was able to lead my team by example. Even though I started playing as setter instead of outside, I still took all of those skills with me even if I'm not captain. In my academics, I am a pretty good student, always paying attention in class and making sure I've understood what I'm being taught, and that is why my grades are pretty good.
