Bryan Maida '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a senior at Lockport Township High School and look forward to continuing my volleyball career at a school that offers an engineering program. I have been playing libero since eighth grade at both the school and club level with Ultimate Volleyball Club.  I enjoy playing libero because I love the challenge of reading the opposing offense, leading the back row defense, digging hard hit attacks, and making big saves that keeps the ball in play. 

I have developed my leadership skills on and off the court; I have learned how to see the court, anticipate the plays, and make adjustments on defense with my teammates.  I share my strong work ethic with the team as we practice and train. I am also supportive of my teammates who are working to find a spot on the floor.  I am always looking for opportunities to improve my ability to read and execute passes by getting feedback from the coaching staff. 

As a leader in the back row and one who sees the whole court, I like celebrating good plays, lifting up teammates after mistakes, and keeping the energy up on the court. I have been able to to get along with my teammates, even as the people and team dynamics have changed, and enjoy the friendships that I made and continue to make on and off the court.
