My main goal is to have fun playing the sport I love and get a degree in business and marketing. After college, I would like to have my own clothing business and start a brand. My main focus is to not lose the love of playing volleyball as I am challenged by my coaches and myself. As a student-athlete, we are often trained to compete and I have seen other players not look at volleyball as their first love anymore. It becomes we a responsibility an obligation so much to where the love is lost on and we focus on winning, performing, and fighting for a scholarship, when we should be loving this and letting the growth come from that.
Freshmen year I was an outside hitter and could hit with my right and left hand. My teammates grew a little taller than I did so I focused on libero and defensive specialist in junior year. I do play up as a hitter when teammates are injured. Having played front row helps me understand how to best set or help the play from the liberal or ds position. Whether I am on the bench or on the court i am enthusiastically involved. On the court I am a loud communicator and often I am the loudest person on the bench, cheering, calling a ball out, going crazy when we get an ace or sometimes even when it is a bad call.
As academics go I am a hard working student with an average GPA and an above average ability to build relationships. I do not take any honors or advanced placement classes, although my goal is to take at least one before I graduate. Besides school and club volleyball, I am a member of the French Honors Society and the Ski and Snowboarding club. Though academics isn't my strength I am still active with what my school does and I build solid relationships with my teachers and a wide range of classmates.
