When I joined the family at the Cormier Youth Center is when my life really started. Its when I started to play volleyball doing camps in 8th grade. The sport of volleyball quickly grew on my and I even practiced with my high school team when I was still in 8th grade. I then went into high school and found another family on my volleyball team. It was much different than I expected as I played on the varsity team as a freshman, I was scared being around all of the seniors and juniors on the team. However I quickly realized that they considered me a part of there family and that's when I started loving volleyball.
I have been playing on varsity since freshman year and this has helped my grow a lot more than I could have if I started as a junior or sophomore. It has made me become a lot more confident and has helped me improve my skills as a setter during freshman year and then transition to fill the outside hitter spot. I was the floor captain my sophomore year and this helped me learn the game even more. Now that I am going into my senior year I am looking for a competitive team and a well rounded academically team. As I have been a captain on my high school team and club team for a couple of years I know that I could become a leader on your team.
