Bruce Lee '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Bruce Lee. I am a 2023 libero from St. Paul, Minnesota. During my sophomore year I played outside for my old high school team (Twin cities academy) which combined teams with Harding high school and Great River school. I was given title “top server” by my teammates and coaches after averaging the most aces per game. Our team placed 2nd in our conference and won 1st place in the 2021 State Tournament consolation bracket. I was awarded the 2021 All-Conference honorable mentions, and named to the 2021 Minnesota State All-Tournament team. I am now the captain of the high school boys volleyball team at Johnson Senior high school, and libero for my Hype club team. Last year our high school team was placed top 6 in our conference of 12 teams and came close to making it to the State Tournament after losing a game to decide 3rd place of our conference. 

I am a leader on and off the court helping the team stay calm and ready during intense matches. I am consistent, play with energy, and can perform well under pressure. I am versatile and fast when it comes to reading the offense and moving to the ball. I have a high iq on the court and can take control of the ball. I am coachable and always ready to learn. I always find new ways to challenge myself to grow as an athlete. There is so much work for improvements I can’t wait to continue to learn and grow on my journey! 

Aside from high school and club volleyball, I also compete in local Hmong volleyball tournaments. In these tournaments players range from all age and skills. Through this level of competition it is another great learning experience to play and compete against players with years of experience.
