My name is Arthur Sander and I was born in Brazil. When I was 4 years old, my family left Brazil and since then we have lived 1 year in Thailand, 4 years in China and now 7 years in the US where we plan to stay. All of these moves were because of my dads job.
People say it can be tough to adjust to new places, specially when making big moves like those. However, for me was it not too hard in any of these places, and moving to US was certainly the easy one. Maybe because America's culture is similar to Brazil comparing with the Asia culture.
I started to play volleyball in my first year in high school. With zero experience playing volleyball, the coach let me play on the freshman team and I really liked it and realized that this sport was made for me! After my first high school season end, I decided to try out for a club team (HPSTL), where in my first attempt I was already selected to play for a travel team.
On my second year in high school I was selected to play as a started on the Varsity team, which I made me really happy considering that a little more than a year ago I had never even touched a volleyball ball before.
Now I am really passionate about paying volleyball and work very hard to meet my goal to keep playing at college level and perhaps professional!
