Despite having had experiences with many sports as a child, I was drawn to the intensity and skill needed for volleyball. Even though I loved the sport, I was not always good at it. I spent a year on the bench during 8th grade, which made me feel dejected about my shortcomings. Once I decided to use that year as a learning opportunity, it allowed me to practice and train to overcome my limitations. As a result, I was fortunate enough to make my high schools varsity volleyball team as a freshman and the starting setter in my club team. This gave me access to coaches who were able to help me hone my skills even more. I am currently playing as a setter, which is a position that I am very comfortable with. In this position, I am ranked 13th in Missouri in assists as a sophomore and awarded Most Valuable Player by the team. However, I also have experience as a right-side hitter and outside hitter. I am a dedicated student, who has the time management skills to attend extra practices while working part-time at a local pool and taking AP class. I hope to study engineering in college and maintain my dedication to excel in college-level volleyball.
