Jose Cancel '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Jose Cancel and I am a very coachable, hard-working, and athletic setter that wants to make his dream come true and play college volleyball. I have been playing volleyball for five years and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I always have a competitive mindset when I play that drives me to do better in what ever I am doing. I am a good leader and I lift my teammates up when they make a mistake. I feel I am a good candidate for your team because I always try to work hard to become the best player and make the people around me better too. I sacrifice my time to practice even more and I never give up. I am kind and respectful to everybody especially to my coaches and the people above me. I keep a positive attitude on the court and I like when my teammates give me feedback on where they want the ball to be set. I am a good leader because I listen to my coaches and everything they have to say and I motivate my teammates every day.  In summer, 2017, I played for Team USA in the 2017 High Performance Championships. I was on the Future Select A1 team. Out of the two teams they created, I was placed on the top team. I was training with the best players in the country for that age group. My grades also help me stand out from other players. I want to go to a university that has a strong academic program so I can continue learning as much as possible. I am currently ranked fourth in my grade with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Throughout all but one of the years I have been going to school, I graduated with A Honor Roll. This shows that I am responsible and can handle any challenges thrown at me. I work hard in school so that I can have a bright future ahead of me. Thankfully, all these traits help separate me from all the other recruits you might look at. I truly love this sport and I really want to continue to the next level.
